Samsung, which is now dominating the market of Super AMOLED panels for mobile gadgets, is soon to face a major competitor – the newly established JOLED company.
It is planned to launch the company in the beginning of the next year, its major specialization field being OLED displays for tablets and flexible OLED matrices. The company is supposed to join the efforts of two giants – Sony and Panasonic, each boasting a 5% share in JOLED. However, their participation mainly implies the use of their decades-long experience and providing for new developments. JOLED’s major participants are Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ), holding a 75% share, and Japan Display (JDI), holding a 15% share, which are to ensure project funding.
