A number of world-known tech giants Samsung, Lenovo, LG and Xiaomi are all presumably working on developing flexible phones. Some of the prototypes thereof were revealed lately. A week ago a half-minute video of Xiaomi’s phone with bendable screen was published by Youku. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed any details about this and we don’t have info yet about the release date of the smartphone either. On the video one can see Xiaomi phone shown to be curved to fit into the user's hand. The video clip also shows the device running Xiaomi's latest MIUI 8 software while it is being operated by a user.
However, it is unclear from the video how exactly the screen is powered. Moreover, earlier this year it has been reported that Samsung might release two smartphones with flexible OLED displays the next year. It’ll be interesting to see how the companies will compete in this nearest feature. Maybe soon we'll have all the options when it comes to flexible screens.
