According to Dubai’s traffic police the existing penaltiy for driving while using mobile phones is not harsh enough. The current penalty is going to be increased in five times. Moreover the vehicle will be confiscated for a month. As traffic violation will be considered not only talking by mobile phones, texting or taking selfies but also using mobiles while even stopping at traffic lights.
Dubai’s traffic police claims the main reason for car accidents in UAE is mobile phone using while driving. Recommendations on increase of the penalties were caused by growing number of deadful car accidents induced by using mobile phones by drivers. In 2015 Dubai Police fined about 50 thousand of drivers; in 2014 their number was more than 45 thousand while in 2013 there were recorded about 36 thousand cases. 

Amazon launches a service that allows automatic restocking of household devices.

Not long ago Amazon has introduced its Dash Buttons – a service for connected home appliances able to reorder the dish soap or shaving foam for you when stuff was running low.

From now Amazon’s Dash Replenishment service promises to work straight with connected household devices. The technology allows reordering of products with no human presence required.

Smart household appliances from General Electric and Brother International can run Amazon's Dash Replenishment Service, making it possible for printers to reorder ink and toner while washing machines can do the same with its laundry detergents.

UAE Shops Invoices in English and Arabic by 2017

Since mid-2017 all shopping outlets in UAE are obliged by the UAE authorities to issue their invoices both in Arabic and English. Outlets that violate the rule may face fines of up to Dh100,000. By the way, an Arabic-speaking staff is mandatory in all UEA outlets since 2013. These measures come after the Consumer Protection Department of the Ministry of Economy received several complaints from customers about not being able to understand invoices issued in English and because of an absence of employees who speak Arabic.

Dubai’s Aladdin City to be Ready by 2018

The Dubai’s satellite city called Aladdin City will have five towers including hotels, restaurants, offices, outlets and entertainment sectors. The towers have been designed to resemble gold magic lamps inspired by the traditional Arabic fairytales. Three towers will be 34 stored while the other two towers will have 26 and 25 floors respectively. The towers will be linked by air-conditioned bridges with moving floor. There also will be a total parking space for 900 cars. The construction is expected to begin in 2016 and be completed in two years sharp. This symbolic tourism-oriented project’s cost is $500 million.
