South Korean tech giant announced its incredibly tiny 512GB SSD, which is smaller than a stamp. The PM971-NVMe comes in at 20mm x 16mm and weighs a gram. Despite its size this hard drive has enough space to come with sixteen 48-layer 256-gigabit V-NAND flash chips, mobile DRAM chip and a high-performance controller. It takes only three seconds to transfer a 5GB video that is up to 1500 times faster than a standard hard drive. Impressive, isn’t it?
Through TurboWrite technology Samsung SSD features read/write speeds of up to 1500MB/s and 900MB/s respectively. This technology uses an innovative write acceleration algorithm to boost write speeds considerably. According to Samsung its new creation works three times faster than a typical SATA SSD.
Samsung SSD will be available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options. The sales will be launched this month.
